Project Objective:
This project aims to develop and integrate a program deeply connected to the arts and its community. A cornerstone of this program is the long-desired Municipal Theater for the city of Luque, known as the "City of Music, Craftsmanship, and Sport." This project fulfills a long-held aspiration of the city's residents.
Promoting Social Interaction:
The proposed program fosters diverse social interaction through the creation of a dedicated space for the community. This space will host exhibitions, workshops, and other cultural events.
Design Concept:
Conceptually, the project envisions a contemporary theater that merges the key features of both an auditorium (providing excellent acoustics) and a theater (including an orchestra pit and stage machinery). This design maximizes the space's versatility for a wide range of artistic performances.
Building Design:
The program adopts a simple, morphological approach. The central building element is a rectangular block of 1,540 square meters, with a seating capacity of 500. Access is provided through a central plaza via a staircase. The design challenge lies in "deconstructing" the box-like structure. We propose achieving this by utilizing a system of micro-perforated steel porticos. This design language resonates with the nearby Sports Center, fostering a cohesive architectural identity for both projects.
